Platform privacy & safety data

Scope

This notice covers rider and driver services, trip and payment records, support, and optional safety features. The existing website and SMS Privacy Policy remains separately available. This page does not itself enable collection or change your device permissions or consent choices.

Information used

Platform records can include contact and account details; driver eligibility and vehicle information; requested and completed trips; location used for trips and online duty; payment and transaction references; support messages; and device or diagnostic information. Enabled safety features may use location and motion samples, derived events, and coverage information. The information collected depends on the features in use; not every category is collected in every session.

Purposes and choices

Purposes include providing and securing the service, confirming payments, answering support, reviewing incidents, and meeting legal obligations. Review the notice for each enabled feature before collection. Device permission, recording preference, and an actually working collection session are different. Optional coaching and possible-impact detection need distinct notices and choices where applicable.

Sharing and access

Limit access to people and service providers who need it for the disclosed purpose, with appropriate safeguards. Riders and drivers receive the trip information needed for the journey. Payment providers process payment information. Any legally required disclosure should be handled through an authorized process. Contact privacy support with questions about providers, data sharing, or processing locations.

Retention and deletion

For Florida operations, individual ride records must be retained for at least one year after each ride is provided. Individual driver records must be retained throughout the driver relationship and for at least one year after that relationship ends. These are minimum periods under Florida Statutes §627.748(15), not automatic deletion dates. Account deletion is not a promise of immediate deletion of records that must be retained for legal, fraud, safety, or financial reasons. Use the account deletion page or privacy support to request help.

Tax and supporting financial records follow the applicable tax periods, which may require longer retention. The IRS recordkeeping guidance describes a general three-year period after filing, with exceptions requiring longer retention. There is no single seven-year retention period for all platform records.

Raw location and motion samples, derived safety events, and general diagnostics need separate schedules based on their purpose and applicable obligations. The Florida rideshare recordkeeping minimums do not establish a separate blanket deadline for every raw safety sample. Records needed to meet ride, driver, legal, or financial obligations may need to be retained for longer. Contact privacy support about retention for a particular record category.

Relevant records may need to be preserved for a claim, investigation, litigation, or another preservation obligation. Those obligations can limit deletion. Contact privacy support if a request concerns records that may need to be preserved.
